Description

Overview

SLAK is a powerhouse international jazz-fusion supergroup bringing together four of the most virtuosic players from Japan and Sweden. The band’s name is an acronym formed from the first letters of its members’ last names: saxophonist Björn Arkö, bassist Henrik Linder, pianist Akito Shirai, and drummer Senri Kawaguchi. Following a completely sold-out debut tour, the group is back on the road to showcase their jaw-dropping technical skill, intricate rhythmic ensembles, and explosive live energy.

This performance highlights a masterful cross-cultural collaboration. From Sweden, Henrik Linder (the bassist for the world-renowned trio Dirty Loops) brings his signature slap technique and global groove, alongside avant-garde saxophonist and NuRAD player Björn Arkö (collaborator with jazz legend Billy Cobham). Representing Japan are keyboard maestro Akito Shirai (famed support musician for T-SQUARE and LiSA) and the internationally acclaimed drum prodigy Senri Kawaguchi. Taking place at Nagoya’s historic jazz and rock hub, THE BOTTOM LINE, this show is an absolute must-attend for fusion, jazz, and progressive music enthusiasts.
